Shine Your Light Upon my face & let me feel it.

16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
17 Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. 18 For the same reason you also be glad and rejoice with me. – Phil 2:16-18

Reporting From Wilmington:

We awoke early Sunday morning and headed to LCC for pre-service sound check and wake-up number.

Did two services of worship and enjoyed a packed out store-front church building. Sunday mornings usually only go so far. I was really looking forward to Sunday night: Extended worship and (what turned into) prayer & intercession.

The night before (Saturday) me, andrea and Jim Spellman had a short impromptu kitchen-pots-and-floor-stomping moment. Nothing that hasn’t happened before but I was really excited because it had some holy ghost on it. I knew drums would break open if we invited it.

So Sunday, before the evening meeting, we set up a few floor toms and got out some big mallets. Then Rachel Beauchamp caught the vision and grabbed those mallets.

A quick summery of the night would go something like this:

  • Started at 7PM.
  • The expected initial energy was present in the room with a full house.
  • Soon to be traded for: “O God, I really desire One thing. Come and meet these people.”
  • Took it back down to a little bit lower-key intimacy directed worship.
  • And then He comes. And that makes things so much better. Because all eyes go where they should… up
  • The drums did play an intricate role. (We recorded the entire meeting and I hope to get some of it online soon.)
  • It was so fun to see the holy ghost on his people.
  • The dancers, the art, the shaking beginning to break down the mind to reveal the heart.
  • The meeting wrapped up around 10:30PM.
  • In the midst of all this we had Meghan Smith over there (stage right- to be exact) just going off on this incredible painting. It was a direct interpretation of what was going on in the room… A picture that the Lord gave her earlier that day.
It was about God taking us out of the box and our whitewashed hearts experiencing the power and the beauty of the Father. (Or at least that’s how I saw it.) Bravo bravo Miss Smith.

Monday morning came fast and we headed to UNCW for a fund raiser luncheon. And I’ll say more about that in the next post.
